Yangzi town belongs to Zhongxiang City, Hubei Province. It is located in the north of Zhongxiang City. And because the local plant catalpa trees, foreigners are also wide, so the name of Catalpa. In July 1949, Zhongxiang county was established; in the same month, Yangzi district was established. In March 1984, Zhongxiang County withdrew the commune to build a district (town), abolished Yangzi and Zhongshan People's commune, and merged into Yangzi district. In October 1987, the district was withdrawn and merged with township (town), Yangzi district was abolished and Yangzi town and wumiao Township were set up separately. In 1992, wumiao township was abolished and Zhongshan town was established. In March 2001, Zhongshan town was abolished and its administrative area was transferred to Yangzi town.
