Mazhen
Mazhen is subordinate to Shenmu City, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the southeast of Shenmu City, adjacent to Xingxian County, Luliang City, Shanxi Province across the Yellow River in the East, Shamao town in the southwest, lananpu town in the northwest, and Wujiazhuang Town, Fugu County in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 14 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 35 kilometers, with a total area of 188.7 square kilometers.
As of June 2020, Ma Town has 19 administrative villages under its jurisdiction. By the end of 2018, the registered residence of Ma town was 20597. Historical evolution
It is said that this place is convenient for water transportation. In the Tang Dynasty, it became a market town, which was named after the family name of Mahu.
Before Han and Tang Dynasties, it belonged to Yongzhou.
In Song Dynasty, it belonged to Hedong Prefecture.
It was under the jurisdiction of Fugu County in yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties.
From Qianlong of Qing Dynasty to the beginning of Republic of China, it belonged to Xijin town of Fugu County.
In 1929, gaimazhen district was established.
In the 26th year of the Republic of China (1937), the revolutionary regime was established as the Second District of Shenfu County, under the jurisdiction of six townships.
In October 1949, it was transferred to Shenmu county.
In 1950, the district was withdrawn and returned to Shamao district as Mazhen township.
In 1953, Mazhen District Office was restored.
In September 1958, Mazhen commune was established.
In July 1984, it was changed to township.
