Yare town

Yare township is located in the southeast of Geji County, Ali Prefecture, Tibet, China, on the east side of Gangrenboqi peak, bordering Mami Township in Gaize County in the East, Gar County in the west, tarqing and hor Township in Pulan County in the south, and xiongba Township in Geji County in the north.

Geji County governs the township. It is located in the south of the county, adjacent to Gaize County, Zhongba county and Pulan county. The resident population was 3791 (2017). It has jurisdiction over five administrative villages. The township government, the Township People's Congress and the township party committee are stationed in Xiama.

The subtropical zone was established in February 1961. In 1996, it had a population of 2600 and governed four townships, including five administrative villages in jiangma Township, four administrative villages in Luoma Township, two administrative villages in quecang Township and four administrative villages in Sailipu township. In 2001, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, and yare township was established. It has jurisdiction over 15 villages of Loma I, Loma II, Loma III, Loma IV, sailipi, sailipii, sailipiii, sailipiv, Zhengbu, xisongbu, shamadin, Xulong, gamakkok, Dima and Rexi. In 2000, the permanent resident population of yare township was 2874. In 2006, it governed five administrative villages, namely, quezang, shamakajue, Luoma, jiangma and Sailipu. Geography

It has 5 administrative villages and 15 natural groups. The township has a total area of 11594.13 square kilometers, a total grassland area of 8945200 mu, an average altitude of more than 5000 meters, and an average temperature of – 0.2-0.4 ℃. It is one of the highest townships in Ali Region. permanent population 3791 (2017). There are 104693 livestock in stock, including 34388 goats, 60397 sheep, 9488 yaks and 420 horses. Because of its special geographical environment, yare township has become a natural paradise for wildlife. There are many kinds of plateau wildlife, the largest number of which are wild yak and Tibetan antelope.
