Ulan hadasum
Wulanhadasumu, belonging to Chahar right wing rear banner of Wulanchabu City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the north of Chahar right wing rear banner, bordering Qitai town of Shangdu County in the East, Baiyinchagan town in the south, hongpan township of Chahar Right Wing Middle Banner in the West and honggetu town in the north, with an administrative area of 653 square kilometers.
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the right wing zhenghuang banner of Chahar; in March 1954, it belonged to the right wing rear banner of Chahar and established Ulan hada district; in February 1984, Ulan hada commune was changed into Sumu. By the end of 2018, 12970 people had registered residence in Ulan hada. As of June 2020, Ulan hadasum has 10 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
In 2011, the per capita net income of farmers in Ulan hada Sumu was 5288 yuan. In 2018, Ulan hadasumu has three comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Chahar right wing zhenghuang banner.
In March 1954, it was transferred to Chahar right wing rear banner and Wulanhada district was established.
In March 1958, the district system was abolished and two townships of Ulan hada, Yihe and gutele were established; in September of the same year, Ulan hada commune was established.
In December 1980, the commune was changed from a semi agricultural and semi pastoral commune to a pure pastoral commune.
In February 1984, Ulan hada commune was transformed into Sumu.
In 2006, the village committees of Bayin gaolegacha and Kangjia village, houfangzi and shijitu under the jurisdiction of former hanwulasumu were included, and baogele, dingmuqigouhaote of hayanhudongacha under the jurisdiction of former hayanhudongsumu and ermini ulannao, Haita ulannaor, ulanhushao and Chagan hure under the jurisdiction of amahudongacha were included.

topographic features
In Ulan hadasumu, the shallow hills and plateaus alternate with each other. The surface is covered by volcanic lava, and the rocks are exposed. The average altitude is 1500 meters. There are volcanic groups formed from Holocene to late Middle Pleistocene in Quaternary 2.5km away from Sumu station.

Wulanhadasumu is a temperate continental monsoon climate, characterized by four distinct seasons, less rain and more wind, sufficient light and short frost free period. The annual average temperature is 3.8 ℃, the average temperature in January is - 13.3 ℃, and the extreme minimum temperature is - 35.2 ℃; the average temperature in July is 20.4 ℃, and the extreme maximum temperature is 38.1 ℃. The average annual growth period is 120 days. The annual average frost free period is 116 days, the longest is 167 days, and the shortest is 95 days. The annual average rainfall is 331.5 mm, the extreme annual maximum rainfall is 471.4 mm, and the extreme annual minimum rainfall is 168.8 mm.

Wulanhadasumu has a river with a total length of 16.5 km. The larger lakes in the territory are hangainuoer, Swan Lake and habuquan reservoir.

At the end of 2011, the total population of Ulan hadasum was 14089, including 560 non-agricultural population. There are 5176 floating population. In the total population, there are 7058 males, accounting for 50.1%; 7031 females, accounting for 49.9%; 2176 persons under 18 years old, accounting for 15.4%; 3510 persons between 18 and 35 years old, accounting for 24.9%; 6258 persons between 35 and 60 years old, accounting for 44.4%; 2145 persons over 60 years old, accounting for 15.3%. Among the total population, 12406 people (88%) are Han nationality, and 1683 people (12%) are Mongolian, Manchu and Xibe ethnic minorities. History and culture
"Ulan hada" is Mongolian, which means "Red Rock". During the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty (1796-1820), Mongolian herdsmen grazed here. Because the rocks around the crater were red, it got its name.
famous scenery
The millennium old elm is located on the Bank of the Chahar Volcano Group in Ulan hadasum, the right-wing rear banner of Chahar. The tree is about 12 meters high, nearly 600 square meters, and about 2 meters in diameter. It can be called the king of elms. According to the research of experts, the age of the tree is about 1200 years, which is extremely rare on the Mongolian Plateau. Local herdsmen worship it as a Shangxi tree and hold a grand sacrificial activity every summer.
Wulanhada volcano Geopark has the reputation of natural volcano museum. There are more than 20 Chahar volcanoes, which are located in Ulan hadasum, the right-wing rear banner of Chahar.
