Xilamuren Town, belonging to Darhan maoming'an United banner, Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the southeast of Darhan maoming'an United banner, adjacent to Siziwang Banner in the East, Shangtuhai Township and Erzhi Township in Wuchuan County in the south, and Shibao town in the West and North. The area is 711.23 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 2470 people registered residence.

In 1954, it was put under Damao United banner of Ulanqab League. In 1956, it was changed to xilamurensumu. In 1958, it was changed into ulantuge commune. In 1984, it was renamed hiramurensumu. In 2002, the town of xilamurensumu was changed. In June 2020, Xilamuren town governs three administrative villages.

Historical evolution

In 1696, Kalun (sentry post) was set up in the area of Xilamuren River, the right wing banner of Tumet.

In 1940, xiletu banner belonged to Ulanqab League.

In 1945, after the surrender of Japan, the system of shiletu banner was abolished and still belonged to the Tumet banner of Guihua city.

On September 19, 1949, Suiyuan province was peacefully liberated, and Xilamuren was liberated at the same time.

In the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to Tumet banner of Suiyuan Province, which was the seventh district.

In 1954, it was put under Damao United banner of Ulanqab League.

In 1956, it was changed to xilamurensumu.

In 1958, it was changed into ulantuge commune.

In 1984, it was renamed hiramurensumu.

The main river of Xilamuren town is Xilamuren River, which originates from wudangzhao mountain, flows into Xilamuren grassland through Ulan Baolige, passes through the middle zone between Puhui temple and aribin Sanbao from west to East, and flows northward into Siziwang Banner after circling Da Wengong and Xiao Wengong. Huhe yiligen river originates from donghale in Wuchuan County and flows into the Yellow River through Tumet plain. The other two rivers, one from Erden Obo, flow into the Xilamuren River from east to west, and the other from Bayin Obo, flow into the Xilamuren River from the north of Puhui temple through Donghe and Xihe villages.

The main disasters in Xilamuren town are early disaster, snow disaster and insect disaster. The early disaster occurs once every four years, mainly from June to August. The most serious snow disaster occurred from November 21 to 28, 1967. The thickness of snow was 16 cm, more than 9000 livestock died, and the survival rate of spring lambs was 20%. Insect disaster is closely related to temperature and humidity in climate factors. As the temperature increases year by year, locust disaster occurs in different degrees almost every year. The most serious one occurred in 1982, with a disaster area of 150000 mu.
