Xiongzhou Street

Xiongzhou street, belonging to Nanxiong City, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province, is located in the middle of Nanxiong City. At the intersection of Zhenjiang River and Lingjiang River, it connects Shuikou Town and Jiangtou town in the East, Guchi town in the west, Zhutian town in the south, Hukou Town, Quan'an town and Zhuji town in the north. Xiongzhou street is the political, economic, cultural and financial center of Nanxiong City. It is the agency of Nanxiong Municipal People's government. The area is 96.88 square kilometers.

In 1954, it was changed into Chengguan Town People's Committee. In August 2005, Xiongzhou sub district office was established. By the end of 2015, the population of Xiong Zhou Street registered residence was about 85 thousand, with a permanent population of 105 thousand. As of June 2020, Xiongzhou street has jurisdiction over 11 communities and 13 administrative villages. The sub district office is located at 349 Xiongzhou Avenue.

In 2016, the local GDP of Xiongzhou street was 1265.36 million yuan, an increase of 14.7% over the previous year, of which the total industrial output value was 465.52 million yuan, an increase of 15% over the previous year; the per capita net income of farmers was 11643 yuan, an increase of 17% over the previous year.

History of construction

In the fourth year of qianheng in the Southern Han Dynasty (920), Xiongzhou was established.

Song Kaibao four years (971), belongs to Nanxiong Prefecture.

In the Yuan Dynasty, it was Nanxiong road administration, and Baochang County depended on Guo.

From the Ming Dynasty to the 12th year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1807), it was governed by Nanxiong Prefecture and Baochang County by Guo.

In 1954, it was changed into Chengguan Town People's Committee.

In 1958, it was changed into Chengguan Town People's commune management committee.

In April 1980, it was changed into Chengguan Town People's government.

In December 1985, it was changed into the people's Government of Xiongzhou town.

In August 2005, Xiongzhou sub district office was established.

Three shadow tower

Sanying pagoda, also known as Yanxiang Temple Pagoda, was built in the second year of Xiangfu in the Northern Song Dynasty (1009), which is a national key cultural relics protection unit. "Three shadow pagoda" is one of the ten new sceneries in Nanxiong City.

South Gate Tower

Nanmenlou was built in the fourth year of the Northern Song Dynasty (1052), and now it is a riverside city. It was rebuilt in 2006 and the South Gate building is in good condition. "Ancient city flowing charm" is one of the ten new sceneries in Nanxiong.

Nanxiong martyrs cemetery

Nanxiong martyrs cemetery was founded in 1958 in wulishan, east of the city. It is a key memorial building protection unit in Guangdong Province. There are Nanxiong people's Revolutionary Martyrs Monument, Chen Yishi statue, workers and Peasants Red Guard statue, Li Letian martyrs tomb.

Liankaijing Temple

Liankaijing temple, formerly known as lianshe nunnery, was built in the Ming Dynasty. In recent years, it has been redeveloped to its present name. It is one of the ten new scenes in Nanxiong, a Buddhist and monastic center in the south of the five ridges.
