Xinchang Town
Xinchang Town belongs to Ningshan County, Ankang City, Shaanxi Province. Located in the northwest of Ningshan County, it borders Huangguan town in the East, tongchewan town in the south, simudi town in the west, Zhouzhi County and Fuyi District of Xi'an City in the north. The maximum distance between East and West is 18.5 km, and the maximum distance between North and south is 34.7 km, with a total area of 299 square kilometers.
As of June 2020, Xinchang Town has three administrative villages. By the end of 2018, the population of Xinchang Town registered residence was 1081. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Xinchang Town reached 13.02 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 5137 yuan.
Historical evolution
During the reign of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty (1821-1850), the place was rich in Dangshen and mufang, and merchants gathered together, making it a market. It is commonly known as "Fengchang" because of the fixed date and place for trading, and later named "Xinchang" after the meaning of emerging markets.
In the 25th year of the Republic of China (1936), it belonged to the first and second Western joint insurance.
In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), it was transferred to the third protection of Xiliang township.
In 1950, Xinchang township was established.
In 1952, Huashi township was added as the Fifth District.
In 1956, Xinchang Township and Huashi Township were merged and named Xinchang township.
In 1958, it was under the iron and steel administration of Lianghe commune.
In 1961, Xinchang commune was established.
In 1983, it was changed into Xinchang township.
In 2011, Xinchang Town was set up.
