Dongdatan Township
Dongdatan Township, belonging to Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County, Wuwei City, Gansu Province, is located in the northeast of Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County, adjacent to Songshan town in the south, Xidatan Township in the west, Gancheng town of Gulang county and Dajing town in the East and North. The area is 152.9 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in dongdatang township was 2760.
Dongdatan township is named after Pingtan, which is located in the east of Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County. Ming Zhengtong three years (1438), for the Gulang Shouyu Qianhu jurisdiction. In May 1983, the commune was abolished and dongdatan township was set up, belonging to Xiama district. In October 1985, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged into dongdatan township. As of June 2020, dongdatan township has jurisdiction over 8 administrative villages. The Township People's government is located in dongdatan village.
In 2018, dongdatan township has three comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
In the Yuan Dynasty, dongdatan township was under the jurisdiction of Xiliang Prefecture.
Ming Zhengtong three years (1438), for the Gulang Shouyu Qianhu jurisdiction.
In the Qing Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of liangzhouwei.
In 1936, it was nanchongbao, Tianzhu District, Yongdeng County.
In October 1949, the second township of Tianzhu district was established.
In February 1952, it was a Luo Township and Dai Yang Township in Tianzhu autonomous region, belonging to the third district.
In December 1958, when Gulang county was merged into Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County, it was set up as aro brigade of xinbaozi commune.
In December 1961, after the restoration of Gulang County, it became dongdatan commune of Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County.
In May 1983, the commune was abolished and dongdatan township was set up, belonging to Xiama district.
In October 1985, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged into dongdatan township.

As of June 2020, dongdatan township has jurisdiction over eight administrative villages: Suancigou village, Quanwan village, podagou village, dongdatan village, Hualang village, shangquanwan village, Xiasi village and Shuiquangou village. The Township People's government is located in dongdatan village.

Dongdatan township is high in the South and low in the north. The terrain is hilly and semi mountainous area, with alternating hills and valleys. The main mountain is Maomao mountain. Maomaodongding, the highest point in the territory, is located at the southwest corner of the township, with an altitude of 3350 meters; datankou, the lowest point, is located at the junction of Gulang county and the north of the territory, with an altitude of 2643 meters.

Dongdatan township is a temperate continental arid and semi-arid climate. The average annual temperature is 0.5 ℃ below zero, and the relative frost free period is 120 days. The annual average precipitation is about 400 mm. The rainfall mainly concentrated from July to September, accounting for 60% of the annual precipitation.
hydrology
The main river in dongdatan township is Suancigou River, which belongs to Shiyang River system and flows into Gulang county from south to north. It is a seasonal river with a length of about 6 km.

The main natural disasters in dongdatan township are earthquake, drought, hail, low temperature frost and so on. The most serious hail disaster occurred on July 19, 1997. The diameter of the hail particles was 5 cm, accompanied by ice. More than 6300 mu of farmland in the township was completely recovered, with an economic loss of more than 14 million yuan. An earthquake disaster occurred on October 20, 1990, the intensity of which was 6.2. Eight villages in dongdatan Township were affected to varying degrees, resulting in economic losses of 7.499 million yuan.
