Struggle Township, belonging to Sunwu County, Heihe City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the southeast of Sunwu County. It faces Xine township of Xunke County across the river in the East, Xing'an township of Wudalianchi city in the south, Chenqing town in the West and Qunshan Township in the north. The township government is stationed in struggle village. The area is 87.71 square kilometers.
In 2018, the registered residence population of the township was 3796. As of October 2019, struggling countryside has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages.
In 2018, there were 4 industrial enterprises and 2 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
In March 1970, more than 1000 young intellectuals from Shanghai came to Sunwu County to settle down in the mountainous areas, and together with more than 200 members of communes along the Yangtze River, yaotun, Xingbei and other communes in Sunwu County to open up wasteland and build sites. It was the 20th anniversary of Mao Zedong's inspection of Heilongjiang Province with the inscription "struggle", so it was named "struggle people's commune".
On July 6, 1971, with the approval of the Revolutionary Committee of Heilongjiang Province, the "May 7th" farm was set up, which was jointly built by Heilongjiang Province and Shanghai city.
In April 1977, one to five companies (Linshan village, Minhe village, Fumin Village, Qiancheng village and Qunshan village in today's Qunshan township) were assigned to Qianjin reclamation area, while Liulian, Balian and shierlian (east of Maolan River) were assigned to Xunke county.
In 1978, the educated youth returned to the city one after another, and the "May 7th" farm was canceled; in July of the same year, the struggling people's commune was rebuilt.
In 1984, the township of struggle was established.
