Xinghuo town
Xinghuo Township, subordinate to Lingtai County, Pingliang City, Gansu Province, is located in the middle of Lingtai county. It is the geometric center of Lingtai county. It is adjacent to Baili Township in the southeast, Chaona town in the west, Shizi town and Shangliang Township across Jianhe river in the north. The administrative area of the township is 104.14 square kilometers.
Before 1949, it was divided into Baili and Xinji townships. After 1949, it was divided into Baili district and Xinji district. In 1956, it was returned to Xinji district. In 1957, when the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, Sanlian township was set up. In 1958, it belonged to Baili commune and Xinji commune. In 1961, spark commune was established. In 1983, the commune was transformed into a township. At the end of 2018, the registered residence population of spark township was 11322. As of June 2020, Xinghuo township has jurisdiction over 11 administrative villages.
By the end of 2018, Xinghuo Township had three comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Xinghuo township is located in the east of Longdong, which is a branch of Longshan mountain with Liupan Mountain as the main peak at the boundary between Gansu and Ningxia in the middle of Loess Plateau. Located in the middle of Lingtai County, it is located in the watershed between Daxi River and Jianhe river. The terrain inclines from west to East, showing plateau gully landform, and has the typical landform characteristics of Sichuan mountain plateau alternation in Longdong Loess Plateau. According to the shape, it belongs to the remnant tableland area, and the altitude is about 1200 meters.
