Jiangwan Town, under the jurisdiction of Wuyuan County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, is located at the junction of Jiangxi Province, Anhui Province and Zhejiang Province. In the east of Wuyuan County, Jiangwan scenic spot is a national 4A scenic spot, and has been rated as a national town with beautiful environment.

Jiangwan Town has a total area of 294.01 square kilometers, 422000 mu of forest land and 88.9% of forest coverage. It has three neighborhood committees, 18 village committees and 30842 permanent residents (2017).

Jiangwan Town is 28 kilometers away from Wuyuan County, 96 kilometers away from Huangshan, the scenic spot, and 110 kilometers away from Jingdezhen, the capital of porcelain. Xi Wu highway passes through the town. Jingwu Huang expressway has an overpass, so the traffic is very convenient.

Jiangwan is rich in land and products. There are 23723 Mu paddy field and 3915 Mu dry land. The economic crops are characterized by Camellia oleifera, Sydney and green tea. The rape flower and Dafan inkstone in Jiangwan Town are well-known at home and abroad.

On October 15, 2016, it was selected as the first batch of small towns with Chinese characteristics.

On October 27, 2017, Jiangwan Town was rated as the national garden town in 2017 by the Ministry of housing and urban rural development.

Historical evolution

Jiangwan commune was established in 1958, township was changed in 1984, and town was changed in 1993. In 1997, with an area of 156 square kilometers and a population of 17000, it has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages, namely Jiangwan, Zhongping, zhankeng, Zhonglv, Wangkou, Gukeng, hongtan, Hetian, Xiaoqi and huxiuzhuang. The town government is located in Jiangwan, 23 kilometers away from the county. Xiaobighead township was merged in 2001, and Dafan town was merged in 2003.
