It covers an area of 69.5 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over nine village committees: Huangchi, dajiaotu, Yangjiawan, Majiagou, Yangshan, Shangxuan, Xiaxuan, Hujia and qijialing. Lianhe township was set up in 1950, merged into Bazhou commune in 1958, divided into Lianhe commune in 1961, and reestablished in 1984. It is located in the south of Huangshui valley.
