Xincheng, a town under the jurisdiction of Zhenyuan County, Qingyang City, Gansu Province, is located in the south of Zhenyuan County, bordering Pingquan town in the East, Pingliang City in the south, Guyuan City in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in the west, and Guoyuan Township in the north, with a total administrative area of 227.27 square kilometers.
In the Song Dynasty, it belonged to Yuanzhou; in 1978, the commune was abolished and the township was restored. In 2003, Xiaoxian township was incorporated. In June 2016, new towns and townships were built. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in new towns was 35456. In June 2020, the new town will have 14 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
In 2011, the total revenue of new towns was 1.35 million yuan, an increase of 0.5% over the previous year. In 2018, there were 18 industrial enterprises in the new town, including one above scale and 32 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with business area of more than 50 square meters.
