During the period of the Republic of China, Lianhua Township belonged to fatebao, the Second District of Shulan County; in March 1984, it was changed from Lianhua commune to Lianhua township. As of June 2020, Lianhua village has jurisdiction over six administrative villages, and the Township People's government is located in nigou village.
