Wanbao Town, belonging to Kuancheng District of Changchun City, Jilin Province, is located in the north of Kuancheng District, bordering Misha town in the East and south, Kai'an town of Nong'an County across Yitong River in the West and Qiangang township of Nong'an County in the north. It is 22 kilometers away from Kuancheng district government, with a total area of 137.41 square kilometers.
At the end of the Qing Dynasty, Wanbao town belonged to Fuan Bajia of Changchun Government; in June 1985, Wanbao town was replaced by Wanbao town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Wanbao town was 30051. As of June 2020, Wanbao town has 4 communities and 16 administrative villages, and the town people's government is located in Wanbao village.

History of construction
At the end of Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Changchun Fu'an Bajia.
Qing Daoguang three years (1823), is to far town. In 1913, it was the Second District of Changchun county. In 1929, it belonged to the third district. In 1933, it belonged to Wanbaoshan, baowanbaoshan and shunshanjia. In 1941, Wanbaoshan village was established. In 1946, it was changed to Wanbao township. In 1948, Wanbao district was changed.
In 1950, it was renamed District 12.
In 1952, it was renamed District 17.
In December 1953, it was assigned to Dehui county and renamed District 20.
In April 1959, the 20th district was changed into Wanbao commune.
In January 1984, Wanbao commune was changed into Wanbao township.
In June 1985, Wanbao township was replaced by Wanbao town.
