Lianhua township is under the jurisdiction of Hulan District. Located in the north of the county, the northwest is adjacent to Nihe, the northeast is adjacent to Bayan County, and the township government is 45 kilometers away from the county.
The name of township comes from the name of resident village. At first, those who reclaimed wasteland and established villages were surnamed Liang and called Liang Hua. Later, they were mistakenly called "Lotus". In the late Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the third district of Hedong in Hulan Prefecture. During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to SUPU township of Hulan County. After the fall of Northeast China, panlonggoubao was first set up, and then Dahu village was set up. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, it was divided into Dayong (five districts) and Baikui (four districts). In March 1956, Lianhua township was set up in the village. In September 1958, it was transferred to Dayong and Baikui people's communes. In May 1961, the scope of the commune was adjusted and the lotus commune was set up. In March 1984, the government and society were separated and changed into Lianhua township. Lianhua township is flat and mainly agricultural. The total area of the township is 140 square kilometers, with a cultivated area of 122000 mu. The main crops are corn, soybean, rice, flax, sugar beet, etc., which is one of the main flax producing areas in the county. In 1992, the total output value of township enterprises was 14.2 million yuan. Lianhua, Laoha, Panlong, Xiaodong, Yong'an, Liangjia, Jingyan, Majia, Dadong, Guyu, Xingye and fufu are under the jurisdiction of the township. At the end of 1991, the total population of the township was 25300, of which Manchu, Mongolian and other ethnic minorities accounted for 4.3%. The township government is located in Lianhua village.
