Xin'an town is a place for fighting for thousands of years. Maling mountain, the branch of Yimeng Mountain, starts from Yiyuan of Shandong Province in the north and ends at Suqian of Jiangsu Province in the south. It runs parallel to Shuhe River, which originates from Yishan mountain, and goes down to the south, forming a natural corridor. It is known as Maling road of 800 Li. Since ancient times, Xin'an town has been a strategic pass for military strategists, and there have been many wars in recent years. In the middle of the liberation war, Huang Baitao's 100000 troops, relying on the East Longhai line, constituted a huge military barrier in Northern Jiangsu and southern Shandong. In formulating the operational policy for the Huaihai Campaign, Chairman Mao stressed that The focus of the first stage of this campaign is to concentrate our forces on annihilating Huang Baitao's regiment, making a breakthrough in the middle and occupying Xin'an town. " And 10 strong columns were deployed to "divide, encircle, monitor and obstruct" the enemy in Xin'an Town, opening the grand prelude to the Huaihai Campaign. After liberation, Zhu De, Liu Shaoqi, Chen Yi, Huang Kecheng and other party and state leaders visited Xin'an town one after another, and the remains are still there.

Economic overview
It is a fertile land full of hope. Since the reform and opening up, especially since the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, we have adhered to the development idea of "relying on the city to develop industry, relying on industry to strengthen the town, and relying on commerce to enrich the town". We have formed five major industrial systems: Textile, clothing, chemical, building materials, and food. There are 270 industrial enterprises in the town, with fixed assets of 1.8 billion yuan. At the same time, relying on the advantages of the city and in accordance with the principle of who benefits from investing, we have built a specialized and comprehensive market such as "Subei decorative decoration City, Subei Furniture City, Golden Triangle big market, Zhong Wu shopping mall, Wenzhou shopping mall, Xintiandi mall" and so on, and the market volume of the whole town is 2 billion yuan. The logistics center of building materials in Northern Jiangsu, which is under construction with an investment of 500 million yuan, will become a new bright spot in the economic growth of the whole town.
In 2003, the town's GDP reached 450 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20%, including 200 million yuan of industrial added value, 100 million yuan of agricultural added value and 150 million yuan of tertiary industry added value; 300 million yuan of fixed assets investment, a year-on-year increase of 25%; 38 million yuan of fiscal revenue, a year-on-year increase of 20.1%; the per capita income of urban residents and farmers reached 4830 yuan and 3900 yuan respectively.
Transportation
It's the gateway of Northern Jiangsu. It is about 100 kilometers away from Xuzhou, Lianyungang, Linyi and Huaiyin. It is the intersection of Xulian economic convergence axis and Xinyi convergence axis in Jiangsu Province. It is adjacent to Lianyungang, the east bridgehead of the Eurasian Continental Bridge, Xuzhou, the "thoroughfare of five provinces" in the East, the Yellow Sea and canal in the west, and the Central Plains and Huaihe River in the West. Railways, national roads and provincial roads form three "cross" frames in the territory: the Eurasian Continental Bridge – Longhai Railway and the coastal artery – the Jiaoxin line and the new long line of Harbin Sanya railway meet in the urban area, forming the "ten" railway Beijing Shanghai Expressway, Lianyungang huoergos Expressway and ningxu Expressway form a cross structure in Xin'an town; National Highway 205 and provincial highway 310 pass through the city, forming a third cross structure. In terms of water transportation, the golden waterway of the Yangtze River can be directly connected to the west by the Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal, and the world's major ports can be connected to the east by the deep-water port of Lianyungang. Air transportation is also very convenient. Within 60 kilometers around, there are Xuzhou Guanyin Airport, Lianyungang Baita airport and Shandong Linyi airport.
