Chaoyang Township, Cili County, Zhangjiajie City, Hunan Province, formerly known as Lingyang Township, was incorporated into Lingxi town due to the change of administrative division in March 1995. In October 1998, Chaoyang township was separated from Lingxi town and renamed Chaoyang township. It covers an area of 53 square kilometers and cultivated land of 11090 mu, including 7825 mu of paddy field, 3265 mu of dry land and 2925 mu of forest soil.
