Ancient town
Gucheng Town, belonging to Hohhot City and Tuoketuo County of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the northeast of Tuoketuo County, bordering Shengle town of Helinger County in the East, shebiya township of Helinger County in the southeast, wushijia town in the south, Wushen town in the west, tabsai township of Tumet Left Banner in the northwest, beishizhou township of Tumet Left Banner in the north, and Tumet Left Banner in the northeast Baimiaozi town is connected to Baimiaozi Town, 30 kilometers away from the county in the South and 42 kilometers away from the urban area in the north, with a total administrative area of 313.04 square kilometers.

History of construction
During the Warring States period, Zhao Wuhou built Yunzhong city in the ancient city village.
From the establishment of Yunzhong County by King Wuling of Zhao Dynasty (306 BC) to the second year of Kaiyuan of Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty (714 BC), the protector of Shanyu Dadu in Yunzhong city was transferred to Shengle (now Tuchengzi in Helingeer County).
During the Eastern Jin Dynasty and the Sixteen Kingdoms period, shiyiqian, the emperor of Zhaocheng, and tuobayu, the Northern Wei Dynasty, successively established their capitals in Yunzhong city.
During the period of the Republic of China, it was Minfeng township of Tuoketuo county.
In 1950, it was divided into the fourth administrative region.
In 1955, it was designated as Gucheng township.
