On December 6, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved the adjustment of some township administrative divisions in Meishan City (cfgm [2019] No. 13): Gaotai Township and hebazi town were abolished and Gaotai town was established. The administrative area of Gaotai town was the administrative area of the former Gaotai Township and hebazi Town, and the people's Government of Gaotai town was located at No. 87 Maliu street.

On December 6, 2019, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved the cancellation of Gaotai Township and hebazi town and the establishment of Gaotai town. The administrative area of Gaotai town is the former administrative area of Gaotai Township and hebazi town. The people's Government of Gaotai town is located at No. 87 Maliu street. on December 10, 2019, Meishan Municipal People's government issued the reply of Meishan Municipal People's Government on approving Dongpo District and other six counties (districts) to adjust the administrative divisions of some towns and townships (Meifu Letter No. 84). IV. on the adjustment of administrative divisions of some towns and townships in Hongya County (42), Gaotai Township and hebazi town were abolished and Gaotai town was established, with Gaotai town as the administrative region of the former Gaotai Township and hebazi town Gaotai Town People's government is located at 87 Maliu street.
