On February 25, 2013, with the approval of Sichuan Provincial People's government, it was agreed that Wuxing township of Xingwen County should be set up as a town, Wuxing township should be abolished, and Wuxing town should be set up. The people's Government of the town is located in Mayuan village, which governs the administrative region of the former Wuxing township. Wuxing town government is located 21 kilometers away from Xingwen County, connecting Lianhua town in the East, Gongle town in the west, Wukuang town in Jiang'an County in the west, Dajing town in Jiang'an County in the north, Banqiao Township and Naxi District in Luzhou.
