Dazhou Township
Dazhou Township belongs to Pingjiang County, Yueyang City, Hunan Province, China. It is located in the northeast of Pingjiang county and at the foot of Wufu mountain. Changshui flows through the township from north to south. Meida highway runs through the north and south, and Changjiang River flows downstream from northeast to southwest. The territory is mostly mountain forest zone, mainly granite, high mountain landform, uneven terrain. Before May 1995, it was under the jurisdiction of Meixian district. In May 1995, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. The township government was stationed in Anquan village, Wangping market town, 30.5 kilometers away from Pingjiang County, with an altitude of 123 meters.

The township was established in 1956, the commune was changed in 1958, and the township was changed in 1984. In 1996, it covers an area of 100.302 square kilometers and has a population of 21000. The total area of the township is 100.3 square kilometers (in 2019). After the adjustment of village level administrative regions (merging villages) in May 2001, it has jurisdiction over 13 administrative villages. In 2010, the county's stone coal mine enterprises were restructured, and the three villages (Yaozhou village, Dutang village, Banqiao Village) managed by Yuanshi coal mine were planned to be under the jurisdiction of Dazhou Township People's government. The number of administrative villages in the township has increased to 16, 156 villager groups and 18588 people. In 2016, it was merged into 10 administrative villages of Shangzhou, Dajiang, Anquan, Taiping, Longdong, Huangsha, Qingshui, Minzhu, Dutang and Yaozhou. The population is 21891 (2019).

The township is rich in forest resources and fertile land. The cultivated land is mainly paddy field, and the mountainous area is mostly composed of clayey yellow soil and bluestone. The water system is complete and the groundwater resources are rich. The climate belongs to the humid type of mid subtropical monsoon, with four distinct seasons, abundant rainfall, sufficient light and long frost free period, which is conducive to the growth of double season rice and various thermophilic crops. Beautiful mountains, fresh air, pleasant climate and beautiful environment make it an ideal place for leisure and vacation. There are "maoerjian", "tieshigai", "siyintang", "shijianshi", "tuguanao" and other scenic spots.
Industrial economy
The township is a comprehensive agricultural economic zone, with 7734 mu of arable land, including 5264 mu of paddy field. In 2004, the average agricultural population was more than 0.3 mu. Rice, vegetables, melons and fruits are the main planting industries. After the adjustment of agricultural industrial structure, the production of chicken, sheep, bamboo and chestnut has become a new bright spot for farmers to increase production and income. The township has completed a total of 5000 mu of conversion of farmland to forest, covering 2000 mu of Phyllostachys pubescens, 110000 hectares of forest land, 95% of forest vegetation coverage, and rich in tree species resources. Pig, black goat and native chicken are the main breeding industries. The industrial economy is dominated by the production of lime, cement and gold.
Since the reform and opening up, remarkable achievements have been made in economic construction and social development. By the end of 2004, there were 2468 migrant workers in the township. In 2004, the labor income reached more than 25 million yuan, and the gross national product reached 31.9503 million yuan, an increase of 11.80% over the previous year. The per capita net income of farmers reached 2013 yuan, an increase of 200 yuan over the previous year.
In 2004, in the process of adjusting the agricultural industrial structure, we cooperated with Xingxing industry, and held various training courses on breeding technology in the form of company and farmers, so as to vigorously develop large farmers. Chestnut and Phyllostachys pubescens have gradually formed advantages and are sold well in the markets inside and outside the province. The aquaculture industry has initially realized the development from traditional farming to specialization and scale. In 2004, the total output value of the enterprises was more than 80 million yuan, the profits and taxes were 7.85 million yuan, and the employment of more than 130 rural surplus labor force was solved. By the end of 2004, 7.2 million yuan of investment funds were available, and three enterprises with an output value of more than 2 million yuan were newly built. As of 2005, there are more than ten industrial enterprises in the township, basically forming a new industrial pattern of mineral mining and refining and comprehensive development of a variety of agricultural products processing industry.

By the end of 2003, the goal of connecting the village to the highway was fully realized. It invested 100000 yuan to build a 6 km highway from Dazhou to Yuping. More than 300000 yuan was invested to connect Qingshui village to Yueyang. There are three small type I reservoirs and one small type I Hydropower Station in the territory, with a total annual power generation of 1 million kilowatts. At the end of October 2004, the Meixian Dazhou section of Meicheng highway was completed with a total investment of more than 3.6 million yuan. In 2004, a total of more than 600000 yuan was invested to widen more than 50 kilometers of village roads. From 1999 to 2003, a total investment of more than 6 million yuan was invested in the transformation of rural power grid. More than 1400 program-controlled telephones were installed in the whole Township, and 156 villagers' groups in 13 villages achieved the goal of group to group communication. In 2001, more than 400000 yuan was raised to build the outpatient building of the township health center. In 2004, the government put forward a special fund of more than 200000 yuan to purchase more advanced medical equipment in China. Each village has set up village level medical centers and village clinics. In 2005, family planning through the establishment and improvement of Township, village and group level family planning service network and publicity and education for villagers, the people's concept of fertility has been fundamentally changed, creating a new way of self-development of family planning career relying on its own advantages under the new situation. In 2005, the family planning rate was 93.8%, the "two check" rate was 94.2%, the birth rate was controlled within 9.8 ‰, and the comprehensive level of family planning was significantly improved.

By the end of 2007, there were 1 middle school, 3 Central Primary Schools and 10 village primary schools with 2132 students. From 1978 to 2001, a total investment of more than 7 million yuan was made in the construction of 32000 square meters of school buildings. From 1996 to 2004, a total investment of 6.4 million yuan was made in the improvement of teaching facilities in middle and primary schools, the construction of 5 audio-visual classrooms and the purchase of 40 computers. In 1998, the "two bases" passed the acceptance standard, and the policy of exempting students from tuition and fees and subsidizing living expenses was implemented to ensure that 100% of the township completed nine-year compulsory education.
