Xinmin Town, subordinate to Dianjiang County, Chongqing, is located in the northwest of Dianjiang County, adjacent to Caohui town in the East, Guixi street in the south, Dazhu County in Sichuan Province in the West and shaping town in the north. It is 9.1km away from Dianjiang County Government, with a total area of 63.88km2.
In the spring and Autumn period, Xinmin Town belonged to the state of Ba; in January 1994, Shuanghekou town was renamed Xinmin Town. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Xinmin Town was 40202. As of June 2020, Xinmin Town has 1 community and 11 administrative villages under its jurisdiction, and the people's Government of Xinmin Town is located at 93 Binhe West Road, Xinmin community.

History of construction
In the spring and Autumn period, it belongs to the state of Ba.
Qin and Han dynasties belong to Bajun.
In 1646, it was named Xinchang and belonged to taipingli; in 1736, it belonged to Beili Erjia; in 1878, it belonged to Beili Sijia; in 1910, it belonged to mu'an town.
In 1915, it belonged to the first district. In 1931, a new town was set up, belonging to the third guidance area. In 1940, Xinzhen was merged with Cao's hometown to set up Xincao Town, which was located in Xinchang. In 1941, Xinmin Township was established by Xincao town.
In June 1958, it was changed into Shuanghe district and became the residence of Hongqi commune.
In March 1962, Shuanghe district was transformed into Shuanghe commune.
In September 1966, Shuanghe commune was renamed Xinmin commune.
In March 1981, it was renamed Shuanghekou commune.
In March 1983, Shuanghekou commune was changed into Shuanghekou township.
In June 1985, Shuanghekou township was changed into Shuanghekou town.
In January 1994, Shuanghekou town was renamed Xinmin Town.
