Taihe Town

Taihe Town is subordinate to Yongxing County, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province. It is located in the north of Yongxing County, 113 ° 11 ′ "～ 113 ° 18 ′" E and 26 ° 12 ′～ 26 ° 19 ′ n. It borders Longxing town and Liyutang town in the East, Huangni town in the south, Jingui town in the west, Zhangshu town and Bailin town in the north. It is the only town in Yongxing County that does not border with other counties. Taihe Town has provincial highway S212, 27 kilometers away from Yongxing County.

Taihe Town covers a total area of 97 square kilometers (2017), with 15 villages under its jurisdiction, a total population of 16563 (2017), and an urban population of more than 2000. In 2013, the GDP reached 2.52 billion yuan.

Taihe was originally called "heshangping". In 1921, it was opened as a Polder. People wanted the polder to be peaceful and friendly, so it was named "Taihe polder". The township government got its name from the "Taihe polder" in the territory, which is called "Taihe Township" for short. in the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to the 16th and 17th capitals of Yandao township. During the Republic of China, it was in the south of Bolin township. Taihe Township was established in 1956. In 1958, the township was withdrawn to establish a commune, which belonged to Xianfeng commune in the South and Hongzhuan commune in the north. In 1961, Taihe commune was adjusted and established. In 1966, it was reorganized into Shuangfeng commune. In 1981, it was renamed Taihe commune. In 1984, Taihe Township was restored. in April 2012, the township was replaced by Taihe Town.
