Lanshan township is located in the southwest of Liuhe County, 50 kilometers away from the county. It is connected with sanyuanpu in the East, Hongshi town in the south, Xiangyang town in the West and Ankou town in the north, with a total area of 77.82 square kilometers.

Lanshan countryside governs seven administrative villages with a population of 5128. There are 10628 mu of cultivated land, including 1847 mu of paddy field and 8781 mu of dry land. The forest area is 7720 ha, including 2617 ha of artificial forest, with a coverage rate of 65%. The forest storage capacity is 102000 m3. There is Dadingzi Mountain in the township, with the highest altitude of 1114.8 m. It is surrounded by mountains in the west, South and North.
