Songshu Town, belonging to Wafangdian City, Liaoning Province, is located in the northeast of Wafangdian City, adjacent to Siping Street and Tongyi street of Pulandian District in the East, Delisi town in the city in the south, Zhaotun Township in the West and Wanjialing town in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 12 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 11 kilometers, with a total area of 132.4 square kilometers. Songshu town is named for the majority of pine trees in the mountains. In 1961, pine commune was established. In 1966, pine town was restored. In 1983, the commune was abolished and changed into Songshu township. In 1985, Songshu Township and Songshu town merged into Songshu Town, which belongs to Wafangdian City. As of June 2020, Songshu town has a total of 10 villagers' committees.
In 2018, Songshu town has 20 industrial enterprises and 13 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
In 1945, after the restoration of Northeast China, it was the pine area of Fu County.
In 1946, it was Songshu Township in Fuxian county.
In 1956, Songshu township was changed into Songshu town.
From March to September 1958, it was changed to Songshu township. In September of the same year, Delisi commune was established.
In 1961, pine commune was established.
In 1966, pine town was restored.
In 1983, the commune was abolished and changed into Songshu township.
In 1985, Songshu Township and Songshu town merged into Songshu Town, which belongs to Wafangdian City.

By the end of 2011, Songshu town had jurisdiction over three residents' committees, namely Xiangdong, Jiefang, and Gongnong; 10 villagers' committees, namely Chaoyang, songtun, Gaotun, Shizi street, Taizi, Liudian, Shatun, Songshu, dongbanlashan, and liantun; and 82 villagers' groups.
As of June 2020, Songshu town has 10 villagers' committees and 3 residents' committees, and the people's government is stationed in Shatun village.
