Qiuji town is located in the southeast of Suining County. The town government is 15 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to Suicheng town and gaozuo town in the north, Wafang town and Shantou town in the south, Lingcheng town in the East and Guanshan Town in the West. It is 50 kilometers away from Xuzhou Guanyin Airport, which is a key area with huge development and potential determined by the county Party committee and government.
Qiuji town has convenient transportation and superior location. It is located between Xuzhou and Suqian, close to the East Longhai line. Ningxu highway and Guanqiu new highway cross the East and West, connecting with national highway 104. Suiqiu highway and gaoqiu highway run through the north and south, connecting Ningsu Xuzhou Expressway and Xuhuai highway.
On July 24, 2019, Qiuji town was selected into the list of national strong agricultural towns in 2019.

Geology and geomorphology
Qiuji town is a part of the Jianghuai plain, with flat terrain and neat land types. The terrain of the town is high in the South and low in the north, high in the West and low in the East, and slightly inclined. The surface part has sand and soil, and the land bearing capacity is between 8t and 15t. Affected by the Tan Lu fault zone, Qiuji town belongs to the area with high earthquake intensity and surface intensity of 8.
Historical evolution
In 1949, Qiuji district was set up and governed by Wangyu, Guanmiao, yuanmiao, Nianpan and other townships. In 1957, the district was withdrawn and the township was called Qiuji township. In 1958, Qiuji people's commune was established. In 1962, Nianpan people's commune was abolished and some administrative areas were incorporated into Qiuji commune. In 1983, it was renamed Qiuji township. In April 2000, with the approval of the provincial government, the original Qiuji Township and Wanglin Township were merged to form a new Qiuji town.
