Historical evolution
Yongxing ancient town has a history of more than 400 years. It was once one of the four major commercial towns in northern Guizhou. It is known as "yidagu (now Jinsha County), eryongxing, sanmaotai and siyaxi".
Yongxingchang, formerly known as masangping, opened on July 22 of the lunar calendar in the second year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1574) and was renamed Xingchang. One street and eight lanes in the market town are willow shaped. The eaves on both sides of the street are long, and the stone road two meters wide in the middle of the street is Luoma road. The street facing south is a depression formed by the rain, and can't walk for three or five days. For the convenience of walking, 12 step stone piers are set on both sides of the street to form "24 step dry jumping pier". Shangjie longquanpu is a typical flower arrangement place, which is called "stepping on three counties with one foot". In the southwest is Meitan County of Pingyue Prefecture, in the southeast is Shibing County of Zhenyuan Prefecture, and in the northwest is Longquan County of Shiqian Prefecture. Due to the special geographical conditions at that time, the market towns formed the ideal "Golden Triangle" for local merchants. The prosperity of market trade should be inseparable from this. Yongxing has a long-term prosperous market, active economy and extensive radiation. It is a commercial flow center near counties and towns, an important processing and distribution center for agricultural and sideline local products and various materials, and a major commercial port for commodity exchanges between Northern Guizhou and other provinces. It won the title of "China's famous commercial town" in 2006.
In 1940, when Zhejiang University moved to the west, Meitan and Yongxing were both important places for their universities. In the seven years here, Zhejiang University and Yongxing had an indissoluble bond. In 2006, the former campus of Zhejiang University, Professor building, Li's ancient house, Ouyang Shu house, etc. were listed as national key cultural relics protection units. In the same year, the people's Government of Guizhou Province named Yongxing ancient town as the second batch of provincial famous historical and cultural towns, and is applying for national famous historical and cultural towns.
Today, the core protected area of Yongxing ancient town is 11.46 hectares. The historical building complex is composed of wind and fire walls, and each unit faces the street as a shop. The shop extends backward to a archway with blue and white porcelain inlaid with flowers and plants or words. Through the archway is the siheyuan, where the master and servant live. The siheyuan is a wooden structure with small green tiles and eaves decorated with tiles and dripping water There are more than 40 well preserved courtyard houses with high tourism value and research value.

It sits from west to East, covering an area of 576 square meters, of which the patio accounts for 96 square meters. It was built by Ouyang kongzhang in Jiaqing period. In the 22nd year of the Republic of China, he cooperated with others to set up "jinruixiang" bank. The tickets of the bank were circulated in Yongxing for two years. In 1940, Zhejiang University moved to the West where some students lived. Li's ancestral home is Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong, Li's ancestors engaged in business and settled in yongxingchang. In the thirtieth year of Emperor Qianlong, Li initiated the donation of Longevity Palace (Jiangxi guild hall). It has been declared as a national cultural relic protection unit.
The professor building of Zhejiang University, also known as "Zhang's Attic", is located in the new West Lane (zhangjiaxiang) of the third street of Yongxing Town. It is a bucket like wooden structure with a small green tile roof. It sits north to South and covers an area of 200 square meters. Its architectural style is different from that of the local area. During the period of the Republic of China, it was built by Zhang Chunpu, a wealthy wine merchant in yongxingchang. When the house was built in 1940, Zhejiang University moved westward to Meitan and set up a freshman department in Yongxing. President Zhu Kezhen, together with the director of the freshmen department, Chu Renke, negotiated with Zhang Chunpu to construct the house under construction according to the requirements of Zhejiang University. It is the largest contiguous tea garden in China, about 25km long and 4km wide, with a total area of 60000 mu (about 10000 mu in the core area). In 1986, when Hu Jintao, then Secretary of Guizhou provincial Party committee, visited Meitan, he called it "ten thousand mu tea sea". In 2010, he won the title of "top ten charming tourist attractions in Guizhou". Its predecessor was the central experimental tea farm of the government of the Republic of China in 1939. It was the first national tea research and production institution in modern Chinese history. In the 1950s, China's tea sea became a state-owned Meitan tea farm directly under the Department of agriculture of Guizhou Province; the property right transfer was completed in December 2010, and now it is under the jurisdiction of Meitan County People's government. The land is fertile and rich in products
This is the origin of maogongmi, the first rice in China. According to the records of Meitan county annals, Zhu Longding, who was once the magistrate of eight counties, including Putai and Feicheng in Shandong Province, brought "maobami" into Korea to pay tribute during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. In 1799, the emperor of Jiaqing granted "Meitan Yongxing maobami as imperial rice". During the Anti Japanese War, Zhu Kezhen, President of Zhejiang University, spoke highly of it when he moved to Meitan and Yongxing Deng Xiaoping praised it as "Maotai in the middle of the rice". In 2002, it was recognized as a safe and healthy food in Chinese market; in 2003, it won the national top ten gold awards for high quality rice, and then won the gold award of national rice Expo for five consecutive times, and was known as "China's first rice". The planting area of high-quality rice in Yongxing is 30000 mu, and the core planting area of 2000 mu has been directly purchased from the countryside. Based on this, 100 provincial high-efficiency agricultural demonstration parks determined in 2012 are under construction.
This is the core base of "Meitan cuiya", a famous trademark of China. Meitan is the first county of tea industry in Guizhou. Yongxing is the first town of Meitan tea base area. There are more than 43000 mu tea gardens and 125 tea processing enterprises (workshops) in the town. In 2014, the comprehensive income of tea was 279 million yuan. In 1939, the central experimental tea farm of the Republic of China settled down in Meitan and set up a branch in Yongxing. It introduced the advanced tea cultivation, management and processing technologies at home and abroad at that time, and completely preserved the tea varieties and processing lines left behind at that time, opening the door of China's modern tea industry
