Historical evolution
Jiangwan was formed more than 1200 years ago. The first year of Tang Kaiyuan (713) is located on the coastline. Tang Tianbao ten years (751), in the defense of the seawall. "Eighteen bays of Qiujiang River, bend to Jiangwan", Jiangwan is named after Qiujiang river. At first, it was called shanxiwan, also known as Qujiang. The town was built in the Song Dynasty. It starts from huluwan bridge and goes east along the river. It is located on the North Bank of zoumatang. Around the fourth year of Jianyan (1130) of the Southern Song Dynasty, Han Shizhong, a famous anti Jin general, was stationed in the Chinese army. Some of his family members settled down here and gradually became a small town. The street of Jiangwan Town was originally named "Jiangwan Town". Its name appeared in the Northern Song Dynasty and spread along the North Bank of zoumatang. At that time, it belonged to Xitang township of Kunshan county. Kunshan county and Huating county are roughly bounded by the ancient Songjiang River, and vinegar pond township is in the north of Songjiang River. However, Huating county was once under the jurisdiction of the late Northern Song Dynasty. In the early years of the Southern Song Dynasty, Jiangwan Town was assigned to Kunshan along with vinegar town. In October of the third year of Jianyan (1129), Han Shizhong once stationed here, and some military families settled down. In December of 1218, Jiading County was established in the east of Kunshan, and Jiangwan county was transferred to Jiading County. In 1544, the whole town of Jiangwan was destroyed and the rear area recovered for a long time. In 1724, Baoshan county was established in the east of Jiading County, and Jiangwan County became a town under the jurisdiction of Baoshan county. During the Anti Japanese War, Jiangwan became one of the main battlefields of Songhu campaign. Jiangwan Town was designated as Hongkou District in 1984. In 2006, due to the fact that there was no agricultural population in the area under its jurisdiction and the complete urbanization, the original villagers' committee had already been completely transformed into the residents' committee, so it was officially transformed into Jiangwan Town Street on September 1. Jiangwan Town Street is adjacent to Yixian Road in the East and xinjiangwancheng street in Yangpu District. It is separated from Jing'an District by Sitang and yujingpu rivers, Changzhong road and Jiangyang South Road in the West. In the south, Wenshui East Road, Shuidian road and kuizhao road are connected with Hongkou Quyang Road Street, Guangzhong Road Street and Liangcheng Xincun Street respectively. In the north, Sanmen road to Hongbei road is connected with Gaojing town in Baoshan District.
