Tiexi street, belonging to Donghe District, Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the west of Donghe District, starting from xijingwan river channel in the East, along the west, to Baolan railway line in the south, erdaosha River in the west, bordering Jiuyuan District, Baotou City, and wangjiagetan village in the North, 7 km away from the district government. The total area of the area is 6.22 square kilometers, with a total population of 30948 in 2011.
In 1984, the new establishment was in preparation. In 1985, Tiexi street was officially established. In June 2020, Tiexi Street governs six communities.
In 2011, Tiexi street had 4 Industrial Enterprises above Designated Size, with a total industrial output value of 740 million yuan, 1658 commercial outlets, 2014 employees, total social commodity sales of 2.3 billion yuan and fixed asset investment of 1.1 billion yuan.

At the end of 2011, Tiexi street had six residents' committees: Beichen, Fangcao, Tengfei, Shenlong Haode and Wanglong.
In June 2020, Tiexi street has jurisdiction over six communities: Haode community, Wanglong community, Fangcao community, Shenlong community, Dongyi community and Licheng community. The sub district office is located in the middle section of Aobao road.

The total population is mainly Han nationality, accounting for 97.49% of the total population, with 30170 people; there are seven ethnic minorities, namely, Mongolia, Hui, man, Korea, Zhuang, Buyi and Daur, with a total of 778 people, accounting for 2.51%. Among them, there are 386 Hui people, accounting for 49.61% of the minority population; 237 Mongolian people, accounting for 30.46%; the birth rate is 6.07 ‰, the death rate is 2.33 ‰, the natural growth rate is 3.74 ‰, and the population density is 4977 people per square kilometer.
In 2016, there were 16000 households and 35000 residents in Tiexi sub district, including nearly 4000 floating population, more than 10000 people, 1434 residents in difficulties, 482 disabled residents and 2872 elderly people over 60 years old.
