Heping Town belongs to Guiyang County, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province. During the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, the Zeng family of Gutang village designated a place for Li, Zhang, Zhu, Zeng and Ouyang to open a fair. At that time, it was divided into eight parts and lived in harmony with each other, so it was named "hepingwei". Now the "polder" is called "town" and "Heping Town".
Heping Town is located in the northwest of Guiyang County, facing Leiping town across the river (Chongling River) in the East, Aoquan town in the south, Ouyanghai town in the West and qiaoshi Township in the north. The government is located in Heshi village, about 36 kilometers away from Guiyang County.

Evolution of organizational system
In 1949, it belonged to Heping Township, seven districts of Guiyang County. In 1956, qiaoshi township was merged into Heping township. In 1958, the people's commune of peace was established and qiaoshi township was established. In 1983, the commune was withdrawn and Heping township was restored. In 1993, the township was withdrawn and Heping Town was built.

Dayuan village is rich in Cunninghamia lanceolata and Phyllostachys pubescens, Baishi area is rich in Myrica rubra and camellia oil, and the plum in Xiaotang village was once famous in the northern half of the county.
