Wangzhuang Town has a long history. According to beiwangzhuang's rebuilding Fuxing Temple stele, it was called "Qian'an town" in Tang Dynasty. According to the tombstone of Zhang surname in Hongwu 31 of Ming Dynasty, it was named "wangerzhuang" in Yuan Dynasty. It was originally named after two families of Wang surname who moved here. Wangzhuang office was set up in 1759, the ninth district was set up in 1927, and the third district was set up in 1945 The third district of the government was established as a township in 1954, which belonged to three districts, and then to Tunzi district.
