Changwan township is located in the northwest corner of Shenchi county. The terrain is high in the East and low in the West. It is close to Bajiao town in the East, Liebao Township in the north, Pianguan County in the west, Hezhi Township and Wuzhai County in the south. It is 46km away from the county seat, 9km away from Bajiao town and 20km away from Sancha town in Wuzhai county. There are 2727 permanent residents (in 2017), with a total area of 330000 mu.
Changwan Township takes Dagou basin as the main line and forms a flat valley with an average altitude of 1056 meters. At the lowest altitude, the riverbed of Xidagou in pu'erping village is 875 meters, which is the lowest altitude in Shenchi county. The soil is mainly composed of Aeolian Loess, which has relatively loose structure and strong permeability. The annual precipitation is 461.8 mm, the annual average sunshine is 11.5 hours, the average temperature is 4.7 ℃, and the average frost free period is 120-140 days.

Nanshan Mountain range is the most complete mountain range in the township, with an east-west trend and a length of 10 kilometers. The main peaks are laoyandong mountain, yanwangbi mountain, Pingdingshan mountain, Hengdong mountain and Lingjiao mountain from east to west. The highest peak is laoyandong mountain with an altitude of 1488 meters, which is also the highest peak of the township. There are three natural villages in the southern foot of the mountain: muhuaigu, houzhuangwo and qianzhuangwo. Baiyanshan mountain range and lingshansi mountain range are basically East-West trending, covering an area of 26 square kilometers. The main peaks are shuangtaiyan mountain, lingshansi mountain, dashishan mountain, baiyanmiao mountain and jiulishipan mountain. There are two villages in the north of Lingshan temple, qiancaoan and houcaoan.
All rivers in the township are seasonal rivers, most of which are dry and waterless.

The economic income of the township is mainly planting, animal husbandry and processing and sales of agricultural products. It is one of the towns with balanced development of primary, secondary and tertiary industries in the county. In 2011, the total economic income of the township was 34 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 4055 yuan. The township has 2859 large livestock, 34000 sheep and 2290 pigs.
The total area of the township is 330000 mu, including 252000 mu of barren hills, slopes and ditches, and 78000 mu of cultivated land.
Changwan township is a typical farming and animal husbandry Township with a vast land and sparse population. Sheep farming is the main farming industry, and there are many kinds of planting industry, mainly rich in millet, millet, black beans, corn, potatoes, pumpkins and watermelons. Vigorously promote the development of modern agriculture, built 26 greenhouses in beishacheng village, planting nectarine varieties.
Livestock varieties include pigs, cattle, sheep and chickens, and sheep are the main animal husbandry in the township. Scenic Spots and Historical Sites
Puming temple is located in muhuaigu village, changwan township. It was rebuilt in the year of Ming Jing Tai Shi (after 1456). At that time, the Buddhist hall was magnificent, and the monk's room was gorgeous. He lived in the monk's house and led the public to apply for the Prime Minister for about ten years. Now there are only two stone tablets.
Qianlishu Qinglongshan cultural site, qianlishuwa is located in the west of changwan Township, Xiliang Maoshan in the north and zuitou village in Pianguan County in the south. On the cliff of the site, there are often plain face, tied neck, open, big belly and flat bottom cans unearthed, with different shapes and decorations, and blue patterns on the abdomen. One pot has three seal characters, one is "Min", the other two are illegible. Artifacts and ash pits have also been unearthed from baozisu in the East and west of the site. There are many pieces of broken pottery covered the hillside at the head of Lijia kiln in the northwest of the site. From the shape and texture of the unearthed cultural relics, it can be concluded that they are Han Dynasty sites.
The iron bell, which was originally the Buddha bell of Lingshan temple, is now in changwan village, changwan township. It was originally cast in the Ming Dynasty, and was changed on October 30, the 23rd year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty.
