By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of Huasi town was 54115. As of June 2020, huazi town has 4 communities and 21 administrative villages.

In the Ming Dynasty, the capital division of Liaodong was changed to be subordinate to the chief envoy division of Shandong.
In the Qing Dynasty, it was the fifth township of Liaoyang Prefecture.
In 1913, Liaoyang Prefecture was transformed into the Second District of Liaoyang County.
