Chengdong Street

Chengdong sub district office of Xingbin District of Laibin city was established on September 1, 2005 by three sub district offices in Laibin town of former Xingbin district. Located in the east of Laibin City, it is the political, economic, commercial, cultural and information exchange center of Xingbin District of Laibin city. It is adjacent to Chengxiang town in the East, Liangjiang town across the river in the south, Hexi street in the West and Chengbei street in the north.

Evolution of organizational system

In the reign of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to Xiangli; in the second year of the Republic of China, it belonged to Chengxiang District; in the 22nd year of the Republic of China, it belonged to Zhongshan Township. In December 1949, it was liberated and belonged to four districts; in 1955, it belonged to Guxi district; in 1958, it belonged to Laibin town. On September 1, 2005, Laibin town withdrew and set up three sub district offices. Chengdong sub district office was established.

Chengdong Street governs 10 communities: Zhendong, Zhenxi, Zhennan, Zhenbei, Shuiluo, Laihe, Jinding, Zhongnan, liulai and Gongyuan.

According to the data of the sixth population census in 2010, the permanent resident population of Chengdong street is 76409, including 38400 males and 38009 females; the total number of households is 17963, and the household population is 63539.
