Historical evolution
The evolution of subordination
Yokogawa is a famous cultural town with a long history. As early as 4500 BC, its ancestors settled and lived in this place.
According to the textual research of "tongjiaao site", in the Neolithic period 6500 years ago, there was human reproduction in the hills of Cuiping mountain in the south of the town.
In the Xia, Shang and Western Zhou dynasties, Henghe was the feudal land of the Emperor Shun.
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, it was the territory of Yue State, and then it was restored to Yue State from Wu state. When the king of Chu Wei destroyed Yue, he belonged to the state of Chu.
Since the Qin Dynasty (222 BC) unified China and the feudal system of prefectures and counties, Henghe has been under the jurisdiction of Yuyao County for nearly 2200 years (until 1979).
In Tang Dynasty, township, capital and Li system were set up below the county level, and Longquan and Meichuan townships and some li of Yeshan Township were set up. In yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, although the names of county to the countryside, capital and map were more complex, the town belonged to Longquan, Meichuan and Yeshan.
In 1909, the first year of Xuantong in Qing Dynasty, the township setting was adjusted for the first time since Tang Dynasty. Meichuan township was abandoned and Hushan, Pengqiao and other townships were newly established. Henghe is under the jurisdiction of Longquan, Yeshan, Hushan and Pengqiao.
In 1930, Yuyao county was transformed into Kexing Township in the first district; Shannan Township in the Sixth District; Sanlang Township, Henghe Township, sunjing Township, Hengjing Township, Qinyan Township, Mayan Township, Shiyan Township and Yeshan Township in the Sixth District; Pengqiao district and Kaidong Township in the seventh district.
In 1934, the township was merged and the system of four guarantees was implemented. Henghe belongs to Wushan Township in Hushan District, Longnan Township, Longbei Township, Pengjing Township and Tiandong Township in Xiaolin District, and Gaofeng Township in Yuyao City.
After the founding of new China, Henghe district was set up in 1950. New townships such as Pengxi, Tiandong, Longnan, Henghe, Qinyan, Guyan, Wushan and Hengxi were built, and Henghe belonged to it.
In 1956, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged into four townships: Henghe, Shiyan, Longnan and Pengqiao. After that, there was a 10-year management area in 1958.
The people's commune was established in 1961, and the name of fuhenghe district was changed in 1983. Moreover, the scale and jurisdiction remain basically unchanged.
In September 1979, Henghe was put under the jurisdiction of Cixi County.
In June 1984, Henghe township was transformed into a town.
In May 1992, Longnan, Shiyan and Pengqiao were merged into Henghe town. This category (attribution) continues to this day.
