Changping Town
Changping Town is a town under the jurisdiction of Dongguan City, Guangdong Province. It is located in the east of Dongguan City and in the middle of the Guangzhou Shenzhen economic corridor. The town covers an area of 103.3 square kilometers (in 2017) and has 32 villages (communities). 389500 (2017).

Historical evolution
In the early Song Dynasty (977-984), Li Junqing of Nanxiong went to Dali to build a village, which was the earliest village in Changping.
In the late Southern Song Dynasty (1265-1278), the ancestors of some villages in Changping Town went from Zhuji Lane in Nanxiong or other places to establish villages in all parts of the town. Since then, the villages in Changping Town have begun to take on the current pattern.
During the reign of emperor Shunzhi of Qing Dynasty (1644), villages in Changping were under the jurisdiction of Jingshan.
During the reign of Daoguang (1821-1865), Changping ancient dyke was established.
On August 5, 1950, the districts and townships were adjusted. Changpingwei was the only town under the jurisdiction of the county. The villages in Changping were basically under the jurisdiction of Changping Township and Guangyu township.
In the spring of 1953, the county divided the original nine districts into 15 districts. Changping was divided into the Fifth District, with 21 townships under its jurisdiction.
On June 30, 1954, Changping in the five districts was changed into a township level town.
On July 1, 1954, the organizational system of districts and townships in the county changed again, and changpingxu was changed into a township level town. The original 21 townships of the five districts were reduced to 17 townships.
In September 1955, the Fifth District was renamed "Changping District".
In December 1957, the whole county set up 37 big townships by withdrawing districts and establishing townships. Changping District disintegrated and the original small townships were merged into four big townships: Changping, Tutang, Hengli and Dongkeng.
In March 1958, tutangda township was merged into Changping Township, and the villages in Changping were basically under the jurisdiction of Changping township.
In October 1958, the county abolished the big township system and established the people's commune system. At that time, the four big townships of Changping, Hengli, Qiaotou and Dongkeng merged to form the Changping people's commune.
In 1959, Qiaotou and Hengli areas were divided into Changping commune.
In November 1983, Changping commune was abolished and Changping District Office was established. At the same time, the production brigades under the jurisdiction of the former commune were abolished and renamed the Township People's government.
In April 1987, Changping was removed from the district and built into a town. Changping District Office disintegrated and Changping Town People's government was established. The 24 townships under the original district administration were also abolished, and 31 administrative districts (another residential administrative district) were established respectively.
