Kaiyuan Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Dingzhou City, Hebei Province, is located in the southwest of Dingzhou City, adjacent to Mingyuedian town in the East, Xinle City in Shijiazhuang City in the south, Quyang County in the West and Chang'an Road Street in the north. The maximum distance between East and West is 8 km, and the maximum distance between North and south is 10 km, with a total area of 43.97 square kilometers. In late 2018, the total registered residence of Kaiyuan town was 54823.
In 191, xiaoyoucun commune was established. In 1983, it was changed to xiaoyoucun township. In 2002, xiaoyoucun township was changed to Kaiyuan town. As of June 2020, Kaiyuan town has 21 village committees and its people's government is located in Xiaoyou village.
Kaiyuan town has formed an economic pattern of agriculture, planting, breeding, foundry and standard parts. In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Kaiyuan town reached 439.945 million yuan, and the total fiscal revenue was 359 million yuan, an increase of 24% over the previous year. In 2018, there were 57 industrial enterprises in Kaiyuan Town, including 10 above scale and 68 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
