Baima Township, located in the northwest of Ningyang County, is located in Baimamiao village, 15 kilometers away from Ningyang County. With an area of 39.40 square kilometers, the township governs 28 administrative villages, inhabited by Han and Hui Nationalities. The total population is 30483, and the agricultural population is 29600. In 1994, the fiscal revenue was 945200 yuan and the expenditure was 1398000 yuan. Baima township is adjacent to Dawen River in the north and Ningyang town in the south. The terrain is high in the north and low in the south. Xinzhou highway crosses the East and West. It has a warm temperate continental climate with a frost free period of about 201 days. The main crops are wheat, corn, peanuts, sweet potato, etc.; livestock and poultry are pigs, cattle, sheep, chickens, rabbits, etc. Underground resources include yellow sand, clay, limestone, etc. The cultivated land area is 2499 hectares, and the per capita cultivated land area of agricultural population is 0.08 hectares.
