Gucheng
Gucheng Town, a town under the jurisdiction of Dingxing County, Baoding City, Hebei Province, is a provincial pilot town with developed economy. It is located in the south of Dingxing County, adjacent to Yangcun town and Rongcheng County in the East, Gaolin town of Xushui in the south, Yaocun town in the west, liuzhuo Township and Xiaocun Township in the north. The maximum distance from east to west is 23 kilometers, and the maximum distance from north to south is 10 kilometers, with a total area of 67.24 square kilometers. In late 2018, the total registered residence of the urban population was 55862.
In the 21th year of Yingzheng (226 BC), the king of Qin established Fanyang County, which was located in Gucheng. In 1958, it was merged into Gucheng commune. In 1984, it was changed to "consolidate urban and rural areas". In 1986, Gucheng was transformed into a town. As of June 2020, Gucheng has jurisdiction over 18 administrative villages and the town people's government is located in Sijie village. In 2016, Gucheng was identified as a provincial pilot town with developed economy in Hebei Province.
In 2011, the total agricultural output value of Gucheng was 950 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 6000 yuan. The total industrial output value was 2.96 billion yuan. The fiscal revenue is 32 million yuan. In 2018, Gucheng had 71 industrial enterprises, including 13 above scale and 81 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
In the 21st year of Yingzheng (226 BC), the king of Qin set up Fanyang County, which is located in Dingxing County, Hebei Province.
In the Western Han Dynasty, it was Fanyang county.
Xinmang, renamed Shunyin.
In the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was the Marquis state of Fan Yang.
In 224, Fan Yang state was established.
In 265, Fanyang county was restored.
In the seventh year of Wuping in the Northern Qi Dynasty (576), Fan Yang's office was moved from Gucheng to futucheng (now the "official city" in the north of Bailou Village).
In 1953, Jiangu town and three townships of beigangshang, nantaipingzhuang and beizhuangtou were built.
