Taocun town

Taocun town is located in Yanhu District, Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province, in the eastern suburb of Yuncheng City, where the Dayun, Taifeng, Yunsan and Nantongpu railways meet. Historical evolution

Taocun town is famous for its rich pottery. According to legend, during the reign of King Jing of the Zhou Dynasty in the spring and Autumn period, this place was rich in pottery, known as Taoshan. In 1958, it was a management area of Anyi commune. In 1961, it was separated from Anyi commune into Taocun commune, and in 1984 it was renamed Taocun town.
