Shihe town

Shihe Town, belonging to Shanhaiguan District, Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province, is located in the west of Shanhaiguan District, with Dashihe in the East, Bohai in the south, Haigang in the West and Yanshan in the north. The total administrative area is 112.78 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Shihe town was 20856.

Shihe town gets its name because it is adjacent to Shihe. In 1996, gaojianzhuang Township and huyuanzhai Township were merged and Shihe town was established. As of June 2020, Shihe town has jurisdiction over 35 administrative villages and another village level unit. The town people's government is located at 398 Qinshan road.

In 2018, there were 115 industrial enterprises in Shihe Town, of which 6 were above scale, and 1 comprehensive store or supermarket with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

History of construction

In 1949, it belonged to wulitai Township, gaojianzhuang Township and tangzizhai Township, Funing District, Hebei Province.

In July 1954, it was assigned to Shanhaiguan District of Qinhuangdao City, belonging to wulitai Township, gaojianzhuang Township and tangzizhai township.

In September 1956, wulitai, gaojianzhuang and tangzizhai were merged into Shihe township.

In August 1958, 20 villages under the jurisdiction of huyuanzhai commune in Funing district were assigned to Shihe township of Shanhaiguan; in September of the same year, Shihe commune was rebuilt.

In June 1961, it was divided into huyuanzhai and gaojianzhuang communes.

In August 1976, it was assigned to the suburb of Qinhuangdao city.

In March 1984, the commune was abolished and changed into two townships, huyuanzhai and gaojianzhuang. In June of the same year, the suburban system was abolished and gaojianzhuang and huyuanzhai townships were designated as Guishan customs area.

In 1996, gaojianzhuang Township and huyuanzhai Township were merged and Shihe town was established.

Shihe River originates from maweiling, Qinglong County, with a total length of 13.4 kilometers and a drainage area of 32 square kilometers. Xisha River originates from Luzhuang, Funing District, and flows into the sea from Anmin village in the north to gougouzhai village in the south.

The main mineral resources in Shihe town are coarse and medium sand, gravel, granite, clay, quartz and feldspar.
