Hongshanzi Township, belonging to Keshiketeng Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is located in the southwest of Keshiketeng Banner, bordering zhiruizhen in the East and Southeast, Zhenglan Banner of Xilin Gol League in the South and southwest, and Jingpeng town in the West and North. The people's government is stationed in dahaolaitu village. The administrative area of hongshanzi township is 1357 square kilometers. In late 2018, the registered residence population of red mountain village was 9313.
In January 1946, it was built in salinghe district (seven districts). In October 1958, hongshanzi commune was established. In January 1984, the township was changed. In June 2020, hongshanzi Township governs six administrative villages.

Hongshanzi township is located at the north foot of Saihanba in the Yinshan Mountain. The terrain is mountainous, hilly and grassland. The main peaks are laohuwei, wulanbutong (dahongshanzi), Yuanbaoshan, jiguanzi, Erlong, Lama and Xiaogu. The highest peak in Xiaoxitian is 2048.3 meters above sea level, and the lowest point is yanwopu on the North Bank of Xilamulun River, 940 meters above sea level.

Tuligen river flows from east to west to the south of Jiaxin River (at the junction of Keqi and Duolun County) and flows out of zhaogudun River, with an average annual runoff of 37.2 million cubic meters and an average flow of 0.9 cubic meters per second. Wulangong river flows from south to North into saring River, to goumen of Huangyuan nature reserve, and to xilamuron river. The average annual runoff is 32 million cubic meters, and the sediment discharge is 0.058 kg / cubic meter.
