Chengguan Town
Chengguan Town, belonging to Jingchuan County, Pingliang City, Gansu Province, is located in the north of Jingchuan County, adjacent to luohantong Township in the East, Taiping Township in the south, nefeng Township and Wangcun town in the west, and Fengtai Township, Yudu town and dangyuan Township in the north. The total area of the administrative area is 88.76 square kilometers, and by the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Cao Feng town was 33298.
Chengguan town is named for its location in the county. In 1952, Chengguan District was set up and later changed to Chengguan Township. In May 1985, Chengguan Township was transformed into a town. As of June 2020, Chengguan town has 18 administrative villages.
In 2011, the per capita net income of farmers in Chengguan town was 4054 yuan. In 2018, there were 13 industrial enterprises and 8 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters in Chengguan town.
Historical evolution
Chengguan town is named for its location in the county.
In 1952, Chengguan District was established.
In 1957, it was changed into Chengguan Township.
In 1958, the township was removed and Chengguan town was built. In the same year, it was changed into spark commune.
In 1961, it changed its name to Chengguan commune and set up shuiquansi commune in Beichuan of Jinghe River.
In 1963, shuiquansi commune was merged into Chengguan commune.
In 1964, Chengguan town and Chengguan commune were established.
In 1966, Chengguan town was abolished and an office was set up.
In November 1983, the government and society were integrated and changed into Chengguan Township.
In May 1985, Chengguan Township was transformed into a town.

The terrain of Chengguan Town inclines from northwest to Southeast, with an altitude of 1020-1300 meters, showing three types of landforms: mountain, Sichuan and tableland. It is located in the hinterland of mid latitude.

Chengguan town has a temperate semi-arid continental monsoon climate. Affected by the monsoon, the four seasons are distinct, and the climate is characterized by drought and less rain in spring; more southeast wind in summer and autumn, with more and concentrated rainfall; more northwest wind in winter, with less rain and snow. The annual rainfall is 553 mm, the average temperature is 10 ℃, the annual sunshine is 2315 hours, and the sunshine rate is 53.4%. The rainfall in July, August and September is the highest, accounting for 58.7% of the annual rainfall.
