Located in the southwest of Guizhou Province, Qianxinan Prefecture is an important traffic road, with active commerce and trade in history, known as the "mall".

The surrounding areas are respectively bordered by Silian Township and Liguan township of the county, with a land area of 10.47 square kilometers, of which only 2026 Mu are cultivated. It has jurisdiction over six communities, including Donghu, Huangjin, Chengbei, Chengnan, Minzhu and zhenwushan, and 36 resident groups. The total number of households is 12206 and the population is 41509, of which the minority population is more than 3000, mainly inhabiting Han, Yi, Miao, Buyi, Hui and other nationalities. In recent years, with the development and construction of the new area and seizing the historical opportunity of the western development, urban construction and town economy have developed rapidly. The urban area has expanded from 4.6 square kilometers to 7.1 square kilometers, and the secondary and tertiary industries have also developed rapidly. In 2005, the per capita disposable income of urban residents was 7069 yuan.
