Qingshui town is located in the north of Renshou County, at the junction of Chengdu Plain and er'e mountains, covering an area of 65.28 square kilometers. It governs 12 communities, 86 resident groups, with a total population of 20137 (2017), and belongs to the coordinated control area of Tianfu new area.

Qingshui town borders Wengong town in the East, Dahua town in the southeast, Heilongtan town in the south, 10 km away from Heilongtan reservoir, Liren Township in the west, Xingsheng town in the northwest and Shigao town in the north. The people's Government of Qingshui town is located in Yutang village. The town is 37 kilometers away from Renshou County, 33 kilometers away from Meishan municipal government and 32 kilometers away from Chengdu, the provincial capital.

In November 2017, Meishan proposed a high starting point and high standard planning and construction of "economic belt around Tianfu New Area" (that is, Meishan area of Tianfu New Area). According to the economic belt planning of Meishan ring Tianfu new area, the area is divided into 12 towns, including Qingshui town (part) and Shigao town. The west of Renshou Avenue in Tianfu of Qingshui town and the north of Sanrao road are all included in Meishan Tianfu new area.

In December 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved the adjustment of some township administrative divisions in Meishan City (cfzm [2019] No. 13), and cancelled the incorporation of Qingshui town into Shigao street.

Qingshui town is located in the north of Renshou County, bordering Wengong town in the East, Dahua town in the southeast, Heilongtan town in the south, Liren Township in the west, Xingsheng town in the northwest and Shigao town in the north. The people's Government of Qingshui town is located in Yutang village, 37 kilometers away from Renshou County. in history, Qingshui town was formerly known as qingshuipu. Shiyi community is located in the north of the central part of Qingshui Town, which is a combination of the original Changzheng village and Shiyi village.
