History of construction
In the late Qing Dynasty, around the establishment of Hexian County, it was maquiyaming.
From the 26th year of the Republic of China to the 33rd year of the Republic of China (1937-1944), it was under the jurisdiction of the third district of Moyu County; in the 33rd year of the Republic of China (1944), it was mainly Runtian Township, part of which was Xinyi township; in the 37th year of the Republic of China (1948), it was under the jurisdiction of Runtian township.
In 1950, it was the Tenth District under the jurisdiction of six townships, namely kezak, kukeyar, yingwusitang, tutiluke, bachuk and lower tutiluke.
In 1956, it was changed into District 9.
In 1958, it merged with the eighth district to form rocket commune.
In 1982, the original ninth district was separated from rocket commune and kuoyiqi commune was established.
In 1984, it was changed to kuoyiqi township.
