Miaoergou Township, belonging to Changji City, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the south of Changji City. It is connected with Urumqi city and Urumqi county in the East, Ashli Kazakh nationality township in the South and West, Liuhuanggou town and Sangong town in the north, and there are three enclaves from south to north. The area is 746 square kilometers. In 2018, 5669 people registered residence.
In 1955, it was the pasture of Changji county. In 1957, it was renamed as joint venture ranch of red star company. In 1959, it was a pasture directly under Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture. In 1961, it returned to Changji county. In 1990, Banfanggou test site was incorporated into the project. In 1998, the pasture was abolished and Miaoergou township was built. In October 2019, Miaoergou rural area governs four administrative villages.
In 2018, there were 2 industrial enterprises in Miaoergou Township, and 15 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
