Shengjin town
Sheng Jinxiang, belonging to the Turpan City, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the highest east of the Turpan area. It is adjacent to the Mu Qin Town, Shanshan, and the south of the county, and the north is adjacent to Qitai county. In 2018, the area was 562.18 square kilometers, and the registered residence population was 27808.
In 1949, Xinjiang was peacefully liberated. Shengjinhe Erbao was divided into the third district, which governs four townships: muhugou, Xinsheng, Huzhu and Shengjin. In 1953, Shengjin was separated from the three districts, called the Fifth District, with jurisdiction over two townships, muhugou and Shengjin. In 1959, it was incorporated into Huoyanshan commune. In 1962, jianshengjin commune was separated from Huoyanshan commune. In 1984, it returned to Shengjin township. As of October 2019, Shengjin township has 10 administrative villages.

Historical evolution

Shengjin township is located in the easternmost part of Gaochang District, adjacent to lianmuqin town of Shanshan County in the East, tuyugou township of Shanshan County in the South and Qitai County in the north, covering an area of 562.18 square kilometers.
