Fengling Township
Fengling township is located in the southwest of Longde County. It covers an area of 66.8 square kilometers. Population 7858 (2017). It is named after Fenghuang mountain. During the period of the Republic of China, it successively belonged to Shanhe Township, Shatang Township and Shanhe town. After the founding of new China, Fengling township was set up, belonging to Shatang district. Then Fengling and gonglong townships and gonglong district were established. The retreat area belongs to Shatang. Red flag people's commune was established in 1958. Later, it was changed into Fengling commune. Fengling township was established in 1984.

In the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, it belonged to Shanhe Township, Shatang Township and Shanhe town. In 1949, it was Fengling, Shangliang, gonglong and other townships, belonging to Shatang district. In August 1950, Shangliang township was transferred from Shatang district to nongshan district. In July 1952, gonglong district was established and stationed in gonglong temple. It has jurisdiction over six townships of gonglong, Fengling, Liangbao, Zhongshe, qianliu and Shangliang. In October 1955, gonglong district was abolished, Lvliang and Fengling townships were classified as Shatang District, Shangliang and qianliu townships were classified as nongshan district; gonglong township was abolished, a small part of which was merged into Lvliang Township, and most of which was merged into Fengling township. In March 1956, Zhongshe township was abolished and Lijiagou, Zhongshe Township, was assigned to Shangliang Township in the agricultural mountainous area. In May 1958, Shatang district was abolished and Fengling township was directly under the jurisdiction of the county. In October 1958, Hongqi commune (stationed in Beiwo, governed by Fengling Township and Xuecha village of Luliang township) and Dongfeng commune (stationed in Shangliang, governed by Shangliang Township and qijiacha village of Luliang township) were established. In April 1959, it was renamed Fengling commune and Shangliang commune. In January 1963, the four brigades of Fengling commune, yangyehe, xintaoli, shangjiancha and xiacha, were assigned to Shenlin commune. In January 1984, the commune was changed into a township. In 1996, Fengling Township, with an area of 41 square kilometers and a population of 10000, governed 14 administrative villages including Fengbei, Yuhe, gonglong, Shengli, Shangqi, Qixing, Lishi, Heyu, SunYu, Xiaocha, Xuecha, Beipo, Bucha and Dayu; Shangliang Township, with an area of 24.7 square kilometers and a population of 4000, governed 8 administrative villages including Weigou, Lijiashan, Shangliang, Xinhua, Dali, Zhongsen, qijiacha and Zhongping. In October 2003 (May 2004), Shangliang township was abolished and merged into Fengling township; in 2006, it governed 11 administrative villages including sunwan, Xuecha, Bucha, Yuhe, Fengbei, Qixing, Lishi, qicha, Weigou, Xinhua and Shangliang.
